What you will be doing
- Ensure the overall safety and security of the guests, employees and property premises
- Act as a member of the Emergency Response team responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance
- Ensure that any violations to law or hotel policy are investigated and reported
- Respond to all emergency situations and provide First Aid and CPR as required
- Correct and report any fire hazards or health and safety hazards
- Investigate and report any violations to law/property policy, occurrences of accidents, complaints, criminal activity and crisis situations
- Maintain computer records of all actions in Daily Activity Reports
- Conduct regular floor patrols, cash counts and crowd control
- Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
- Conduct regular audits with regards to access control and safety measures
- Follow all department and Hotel policies (procedural service and safety)
- Will be required to work shifts of all hours; including overnights, weekends and holidays
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Relevant security experience is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Valid Certification in Occupational First Aid Level 2 required
- Valid BC Security License required
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications
- University / College degree in a related discipline preferred
- Must possess strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team as well as solo
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs remain calm and courteous at all times.
Team and Working Environment
The Security comprises of highly trained and motivated professionals all with years of experience in handling difficult situations as well as providing luxury levels of guest services experiences. Security team members are expected to work in a very dynamic and ever changing environment. From dealing with fires and emergency medical issues to assisting guests discover and enjoy the Hotels many luxury facilities.
