Job summary

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited is seeking a Security Officer to oversee security across the casino, ensuring safety for guests and staff while protecting the company from theft and fraud. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service and a calm, confident presence on the floor.

The position is casual and requires a minimum of 6 months security experience, First Aid/CPR, and the ability to obtain IGCO registration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in a security role.
• Proven, high level of customer service.
• Detail-orientated and organized nature.
• Solid analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to obtain registration with IGCO.
• Social perceptiveness and good vision to identify people.
• Capacity to physically restrain and secure individuals using prescribed techniques.
• Completion of Gaming Security Officer (GSO) training/exam prior to start or valid BC Security License and completion within 90 days in BC.
• ProTect and Deal Us Security Staff Training program completion within 30 days in Alberta.
• Completion of Serving It Right (BC).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

• Control access to the facility and particularly to sensitive areas.
• Monitor alarm panels and control and issue keys.
• Write reports, maintain a daily log and conduct investigations.
