Job description
Position Overview

The Security Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, training, discipline, and implementation of site-specific Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs). This position requires full ownership of scheduling and operational oversight on a 24/7 basis, ensuring all directives provided by the client are achieved promptly and effectively. The Security Manager also plays a key role in maintaining team morale, welfare, and performance standards across the site.

Essential Job Functions
  • Ensure all services delivered by assigned staff align with client expectations, Paladin’s Code of Ethics, and company standards.
  • Manage and respond to emergencies in a timely, professional, and effective manner.
  • Ensure all security staff are fully trained and familiar with Post Orders and Standing Operating Procedures.
  • Oversee and coordinate training for new and existing staff, including all company-mandated programs.
  • Verify that all security personnel complete onboarding and required training within the first month of employment.
  • Ensure all guards are properly trained in report writing and documentation standards.
  • Address and resolve on-site personnel issues through effective conflict resolution and internal investigations.
  • Remain accessible to assist with emergency calls or site needs outside of standard working hours.
  • Provide consistent monitoring and support to the site team to ensure operational excellence.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to ensure 24/7 security coverage of the site.
  • Review, complete, and submit all required reports accurately and within the timelines defined by the client or company standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of site-specific SOPs, National Standards, and Post Orders.
  • Demonstrate detailed operational knowledge of the site’s Fire Safety Plan.
  • Conduct probationary and annual evaluations for all security personnel under supervision.
  • Perform after-hours quality control checks to verify that security patrols and site coverage meet required standards.
  • Ensure all team members maintain professional appearance and behavior in accordance with Post Orders and Paladin’s dress code policy.
  • Confirm that the Security Desk maintains updated Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) manuals at all times.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a front-line Security Management role within a medium to large organization.
  • Post secondary education in law enforcement from a recognized institution or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and client service skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, including the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate team members.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal colleagues and external clients.
  • Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and achieving shared objectives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work a full-time day shift (Monday to Friday) with flexibility to respond to urgent or after-hours incidents when required.
