  • Site: A busy public transit terminal serving local and regional bus routes. The facility includes indoor waiting areas, ticketing services, and passenger amenities. Security personnel are responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment, monitoring activity, assisting passengers, and responding to incidents with professionalism and strong customer service.
  • Position: Part Time Security Guard
  • Site: Welland Transit Terminal - 159 East Main St Welland
  • Hours: Monday to Friday (1930-2330 hrs)
  • Payrate: $18.35/hr.
  • Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
  • Internal Posting Date: October 28, 2025
  • Internal Closing Date: November 03, 2025
  • External Closing Date: November 03, 2025
Key Responsibilities
  • Being alert and observant while being outside, standing or walking for an extended period in all weather conditions (Rain, Snow, Excessive Heat & Cold, etc.).
  • Always maintain communications with fellow Security Guard/dispatchers, Cliental and Paladin Managerial Staff.
  • Ensure all site staff adhere to Paladin Security policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper documentation is passed onto the Shift Leads/Dispatchers, client and Paladin leadership team.
  • Document and investigate security incidents and complaints.
  • Communicate any concerns/issues with Supervisor/Client Service Manager or the client.
  • Ability to work alone and be self-motivated.
  • Maintain the highest standard of security, being professional in attitude, appearance and application.
  • Represent Paladin Security, Client and their customers in a way that enhances the quality, image and reputation of the Client.
  • Perform security duties in accordance with established procedures and within the laws applicable at federal, provincial, and municipal levels.
  • Be observant and record discrepancies, deficiencies and safety hazards/concerns noted during patrols and take corrective action, informing the applicable department or handling it where possible.
  • Be courteous and helpful in enforcing all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Perform duties and tasks as directed by the Security Leadership team and respond to client directions.
  • Respond immediately to any emergency and coordinate response according to established procedures.
Prerequisites
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Covid Vaccine two doses
  • English (oral and written) fluency is required
  • One year of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
  • Ability to walk/climb stairs throughout the premises for longer periods of time
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Must provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants may opt into Paladin’s Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training prior to onboarding to meet position requirements

Note: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as a pre-employment requirement; Paladin will cover training costs with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
