Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional, visible, and alert security presence.
- Greet, assist, and direct staff and visitors as needed.
- Protect clients, property, and assets by carrying out assigned duties.
- Perform interior and exterior patrols, respond to emergencies, and assist as required.
- Document and report incidents, investigations, and daily activities.
- Monitor CCTV, enforce access control, and manage keys.
- Support patient watches and enforce hospital policies, parking, and smoking by-laws.
- Conduct monthly safety inspections and report deficiencies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and work independently when required.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
- Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
- A copy of immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Pertussis and TB tests)
- Steps to obtain immunization records: immunization forms are available through the employer resources; completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis is required at the time of hire
- Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
- Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience preferred
- Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience preferred
- Must be able to commit to full-time availability for no less than 6 months
- English proficiency (oral & written) is required
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
- 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
- Must be able to provide certifications in Stay Safe
- Applicants can opt into Paladin's Stay Safe certification program prior to onboarding certification to meet position requirements
- Stay Safe certification is a prerequisite; Paladin covers certification costs with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
- Authorized to legally work in Canada

This job reports to the CSM. This is a Full-Time position with shifts including 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, School Hours, Weekends, and Summers.
