Job summary

Atos in Toronto, Canada seeks a seasoned cybersecurity engineer to join our security research and engineering team. You will design PoCs, prototype security tools, and evaluate products to strengthen enterprise defenses.

You will collaborate with engineering, security operations, architecture, and product teams to operationalize research outcomes. Requires 5+ years in cybersecurity with strong programming skills in Python, Go, C/C++, Java, or Rust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security research, security architecture, or a related technical role.
• Strong programming experience in Python, Go, C/C++, Java, or Rust.
• Hands-on experience developing prototypes, automation tools, or security-focused applications.
• Strong understanding of Network Security, Application Security, Identity & Access Management, Threat Detection and Response, Security Architecture Principles.
• Ability to communicate complex technical findings to both technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Research emerging cybersecurity technologies, attack techniques, and defensive capabilities.
• Design, build, and validate proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to assess the feasibility of new security solutions.
• Develop prototypes, tools, scripts, and automation to support security research initiatives.
• Evaluate commercial and open-source security products and provide technical recommendations.
• Conduct security testing, threat modeling, and capability assessments across enterprise environments.
• Analyze emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attacker tactics to identify security improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, security operations, architecture, and product teams to operationalize successful research outcomes.
• Create technical documentation, research findings, architecture recommendations, and implementation guidance.
• Support technology selection decisions through benchmarking, testing, and technical due diligence.
• Stay current with cybersecurity trends, threat intelligence, AI-driven security advancements, and industry best practices.
