What you can expect to do here
  • Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) to ensure thorough background checks and security screening for all new hires.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of security clearances, from initial application to final determination:
    • Coordinate and manage security clearance applications with relevant government agencies.
    • Verify and validate personal and professional documentation for eligibility.
    • Maintain detailed records of applications, statuses, and renewals.
    • Liaise with governmental security agencies to process and track requests.
  • Provide guidance and support to applicants throughout the clearance process.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing security risk assessments for candidates.
  • Assist with renewals, terminations, upgrades, and new applications.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation to support clearance recommendations.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with security information management protocols.
  • Collaborate with consultants, internal team members, client, and government representatives to support security operations.
  • Respond to security-related requests from Corporate Security Officers (CSOs).
  • Manage the secure sending and receiving of project materials (documentation and equipment)
  • Act as Alternate Corporate Security Officer (ACSO) for work location as required:
    • Conduct site orientations for secure areas
    • Verify clean desk policy in effect
    • Support CSO
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental security protocols and regulations when acting as an ACSO of a site.
  • Makes independent decisions on security clearance eligibility recommendations.
  • Evaluates security risk factors and potential clearance disqualifications.
  • Determines additional administrative steps for clearance applications.
  • Influences security screening protocols and procedural improvements.
  • Completes assigned clearances, renewals, and terminations accurately and in a timely manner
  • Performs ACSO duties with no non-compliances
  • Takes active role in team meetings
What you’ll bring to WSP
  • Diploma inSecurity Management,Administrative Assistance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in security clearance processing.
  • Advanced understanding of governmental security clearance regulations.
  • Training in government Industrial security protocols (preferred).
  • Knowledge of privacy laws and information protection standards (an asset).
  • Proven ability to handleconfidential informationwith discretion.
  • Exceptionalattention to detailandaccuracyin documentation and processes.
  • Strongverbal and written communication skillsinEnglish and/or French.
  • ValidReliability-level security clearance(Secret-level clearance considered an asset.
  • Willingness and ability toorient employeeson required security procedures and protocols.
