Job summary

ISG Search Inc. in Toronto seeks an experienced Security Architect to lead enterprise security architecture, cloud security, and governance initiatives.

The role spans Azure Cloud, network security, data protection, and security controls across technology teams and vendors. You'll assess architectures, define controls, align with enterprise patterns, conduct threat modeling, and drive security reviews throughout the project lifecycle, partnering with security and engineering teams to implement

Responsibilities

• Define and establish security controls across cloud, network, data, and application environments.
• Review solution architectures to identify security risks and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
• Design and implement security architecture for Azure Cloud environments.
• Provide guidance on network security architecture and controls.
• Establish and oversee data encryption and data protection requirements.
• Support Data Loss Prevention (DLP), security logging and monitoring.
• Review and advise on application design from a security perspective.
• Conduct threat modeling and identify security vulnerabilities and risks.
• Support vulnerability monitoring and address identified risks.
• Contribute to security governance, architecture reviews, risk assessments and control definition.
• Ensure security requirements are incorporated into technology solutions across lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cloud, SaaS, and third-party platforms for secure integration and controls.
• Support integration of enterprise security tools and platforms (SailPoint, CyberArk, Netskope, Splunk).
• Work with teams to resolve security issues.

Security Architect
Contract: 6 Months, Renewable
Our client is seeking an experienced Security Architect to support enterprise security architecture, cloud security, and security governance initiatives. The successful candidate will provide security leadership across Azure Cloud, network security, data protection, application security, and enterprise security controls.
This is a hands‑on architecture and governance role requiring someone who can assess and review technical architectures, define appropriate security controls, align solutions with enterprise security patterns, and work closely with technology teams and third‑party security providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and establish security controls across cloud, network, data, and application environments.


• Review solution and technical architectures to identify security risks and ensure alignment with enterprise security patterns and standards.


• Design and implement security architecture for Azure Cloud environments.


• Provide guidance on network security architecture and controls.


• Establish and oversee data encryption and data protection requirements.


• Support Data Loss Prevention (DLP), security logging, monitoring, and related security controls.


• Review and provide security guidance on application design and architecture.


• Conduct threat modeling and identify potential security vulnerabilities and risks.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, cloud, data, and technology teams to identify and resolve security issues.


• Provide security architecture guidance and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.


• Help ensure security solutions and controls are consistent with broader enterprise security architecture and governance objectives.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience working as a Security Architect or in a similar senior security architecture role.


• Strong experience with Azure Cloud Security.


• Strong understanding of Network Security and enterprise security controls.


• Experience with Data Encryption and data protection technologies.


• Experience with DLP, security logging, and security monitoring.


• Strong understanding of Application Security and secure application design.


• Experience defining and implementing security controls within enterprise environments.


• Experience conducting architecture reviews and aligning security controls to enterprise security patterns.


• Experience with Security Governance and enterprise security architecture.


• Strong experience with Threat Modeling and security risk assessment.


• Experience with Vulnerability Monitoring and security risk management.


• Experience integrating security capabilities across Cloud, SaaS, and third‑party platforms.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain security requirements and risks to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Preferred / Related Technology Experience

Experience with one or more of the following security platforms is highly desirable:

• SailPoint – Identity Governance and Administration


• CyberArk – Privileged Access Management


• Netskope – Cloud/SASE and Data Security


• Splunk – Security Information and Event Management / security monitoring


• Microsoft Azure security services and capabilities

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior security professional who can operate at both the architecture and governance levels. They should be comfortable reviewing proposed solutions, identifying security gaps, defining appropriate controls, and working directly with technology teams to ensure those controls are implemented effectively.
This individual should be able to work across multiple security domains rather than being focused exclusively on one area such as identity, network, or cloud security.
