Job Description

The Security Operations Center – Vulnerability Assessment Infrastructure team plans, designs, builds, and operates Bell’s cyber exposure platform.

Role

As Senior Specialist, Automation and Software Development, part of the SOC team at Bell, you will have the opportunity to work on developing applications to support the latest vulnerability assessment technologies. You will support our efforts to deploy and maintain critical infrastructure for our internal customers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop, optimize, and support (occasional 24/7) custom software and applications in an agile team.

Key Technical Competencies
  • Deep knowledge of programming, Design Patterns, and Software Architecture (Java, Python).
  • Solid expertise in automation solutions (Ansible).
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS).
  • Understanding of virtualization solutions (VMWare, Openstack, Openshift, Docker, LXC, Proxmox).
  • Knowledge of monitoring software (Zabbix).
  • Knowledge of source code control management (GIT, SVN) and pipeline (CICD).
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Unix).
  • Knowledge of security principles is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Work with an agile team to develop, test, and maintain VA-Infra supporting software.
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software.
  • Participate in the Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CICD) cycle.
  • Resolve operational problems in a timely fashion, handle escalated issues, and follow up on outstanding items promptly.
  • Develop preventive measures and build documentation.
  • Onboard new business units to meet scan requirements.
  • Contribute to project meetings and report on issue status.
