Job summary

A luxury hotel chain in Ottawa is seeking a Security personnel to ensure the safety and security of guests and premises. The role requires previous experience in security, along with certification in CPR, First Aid, and a Valid Ontario Security Guard License. Qualifications

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Security & Loss Prevention, you will serve as a Guardian and Protector, ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, guests, and visitors. With your attentiveness, efficiency, and commitment, you will contribute to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for both the workplace and travel destination.

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service.
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of hotel guests, colleagues, and premises.
  • Patrol 665,000 sq. ft., identifying insecurities and fire hazards.
  • Conduct regular floor patrols, cash counts, and crowd control.
  • Report and address any fire hazards or health and safety concerns.
  • Report and investigate accidents, complaints, criminal activity, and crisis situations.
  • Investigate violations of laws or hotel policies and report findings.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents, accidents, or policy violations, ensuring all incidents are documented properly.
  • Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding to fires, accidents, safety concerns, and calls for medical assistance.
  • Respond to all emergency situations and provide First Aid and CPR as required.
  • Assist guests with hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way.
  • Be aware of and sensitive to the diverse backgrounds of guests, ensuring respectful and professional interactions.
  • Follow department policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Adhere to all safety policies.
  • Work cohesively with other hotel departments, such as maintenance and guest services, to ensure safety standards.
  • Conduct key control audits and maintain key control records.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of security logs, shift reports, and guest interactions for accountability and compliance with hotel policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a security role is required.
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is required.
  • Smart Serve certification is required.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance and Bylaw deputization.
