Job summary

TextNow is seeking a SecOps/SRE professional to secure, monitor, and automate response within our infrastructure in Canada. You will design secure, scalable systems, enforce IaC practices, and participate in on-call incident response while collaborating with engineering teams to embed security across the SDLC.

The role emphasizes hands-on use of AWS security tools, Terraform, Ansible, and CrowdStrike, with a focus on automated compliance and secure configurations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Security Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevSecOps, with cloud security and automation focus.
• Hands-on with AWS security services, GitHub security controls, Terraform and Ansible for secure infra.
• Incident response experience and ability to remediate security risks with engineering teams.
• Proactive security monitoring, logging, and anomaly detection capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security-focused infrastructure for reliability and scalability.
• Develop and enforce security automation and IaC practices with Terraform, Ansible, and AWS tools.
• Participate in on-call rotations to respond to incidents and investigate threats.
• Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting to detect anomalies and suspicious activity.
• Manage IAM roles, permissions, and policies to enforce least privilege across cloud and internal systems.
• Collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and compliance to embed security in the SDLC.
