KPDSB serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala. QUALIFICATIONS
  • OCT Certificate required. Intermediate/Senior and continuing education qualifications and manufacturing/auto technology qualifications or experience preferred.
  • An understanding of current educational philosophies, teaching and learning strategies involved in the Ontario Curriculum, Continuing Education, the Adult Education Credit Strategy, Achieving Excellence, the Renewed Math Strategy.
  • An understanding of experiential learning including Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Programs, Outdoor Education, Dual Credit Programs, and Career Studies.
  • Will be familiar with First Nations, Inuit and Metis Cultures within our region and experience working with First Nation, Metis and Inuit students, their families and communities within Northwestern Ontario.
  • Experience as a staff developer, lead learner and facilitator.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with and/or experience in working cooperatively with staff, administration and educational partners.
