Qualifications
  • Candidates must have Technological Education qualifications.
  • Members in good standing or in the process of becoming Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) qualified before the start date, and be enrolled or have completed their Technological Education qualification based on Ontario College of Teachers qualifications.
  • External applicants must provide at least three (3) professional supervisory teaching references (including full name, position, title, work location/organization and email address) during the online application screening section.
  • Internal YRDSB employees must include all previous teaching experiences and provide two (2) references, one of which must be a YRDSB administrator.
  • As a condition of employment, any candidate must provide a satisfactory police record check (PVSC) completed within six (6) months prior to the scheduled start date. The results must be submitted to the Board upon instruction.
Preferred Referees
  • Principal / Vice-Principal who has supervised you and can speak to your teaching practice.
  • Faculty Advisor / Coordinator or Practicum Advisor who has observed and evaluated your teaching practice in a classroom setting.
  • Host / Mentor Teacher who has supervised you and can speak to your teaching practice in a secondary setting (references cannot be completed by current OSSTF D.16 members).
  • Professional reference who can speak to your teaching practice.
