Job summary

A leading Canadian hotel is looking for a passionate Pastry/Bakeshop team member in Banff. You will prepare artisan baked goods and ensure quality while adhering to safety standards. Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in Baking & Pastry Arts and a culinary school diploma is an asset. This full-time position offers a starting pay of $19.97 per hour with opportunities for salary increases. On-site accommodation and comprehensive benefits are available.

Do you have a natural passion and creativity when it comes to baking Would you like be part of a dynamic and innovative team in one of the largest hotels in Canada Begin your career in the Pastry / Bakeshop and come and work with our committed Chefs and strong culinary team preparing and serving the finest meals with amazing local ingredients.

Starting Rate : $19.97 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $23.21.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare daily production of fresh artisan breads rolls muffins and all other bakeshop items according to the standard recipes
  • Prepare daily production of fresh scones cakes cookies tarts squares / bars according to the standard recipes
  • Ensuring quality and freshness to all food items being prepped
  • Following all standards set in place by the Sous Chef
  • Adhere to and follow ALLSAFE health and safety protocols
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year Baking & Pastry Arts experience
  • Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Culinary School an asset
  • Able to lift carry and pull up to 50lbs and able to constantly stand and walk throughout shift
  • Able to withstand exposure to kitchen equipment includes large and small ovens stoves steam kettles mixers sheeter fryers rational ovens steamers tilt skillets fridges and freezers as well as blast freezers
  • Able to maintain high service levels under pressure
