WHAT’S THE JOB?

Based at a world-class Horizon North camp facility, this position involves a 20 days on, 10 days off schedule, with 10-hour workdays. Transportation is provided from a designated pickup point by Horizon North.

The Second Cook assists in kitchen operations, maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing of kitchen areas, tools, equipment, pots, and dishes.

This position is safety sensitive and requires drug, alcohol, and fitness testing as a condition of employment.

Your work will include:

  • Maintaining consistent food quality and safety standards according to client requirements and Food Safe protocols.
  • Preparing and setting up a full salad bar for lunch and dinner.
  • Preparing a variety of salads, pasta, and specialty items.
  • Creating and making salad dressings from scratch, including oil, cream-based, and sauces.
  • Preparing ingredients for sandwiches, including bread, cold cuts, cheese, and garnishes.
  • Inspecting cold food presentation for appeal and quality.
  • Managing proper storage of food items to maintain freshness.
  • Utilizing food stocks effectively.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
