Job summary

A Canadian road maintenance contractor is seeking a Seasonal Maintenance Worker/Operator in Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands. Responsibilities include operating maintenance equipment, completing paperwork, and performing routine maintenance. Candidates must have a DZ licence in good standing and experience in highway maintenance is preferred. This position offers guaranteed regular hours and is unionized.

Qualifications

• DZ licence in good standing is mandatory.
• AZ licence considered an asset.
• Experience in highway maintenance preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy maintenance equipment.
• Capability to perform preventative and routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate light and heavy maintenance equipment.
• Complete required paperwork such as inspection documents.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Carry out winter highway maintenance activities.
• Report accidents and equipment issues.
• Notify personnel regarding equipment damage.

Skills

DZ licence in good standing

Experience in Provincial and/or Municipal highway maintenance

Helpful, friendly and courteous with the public

Punctual and willing to work shift work

Physically able to meet all requirements
