Job summary

A regional government body is seeking Seasonal Vegetation Control workers in Canada, Alberta. This position involves operating machinery to spray weeds and maintain County properties during the season from May 4th to October 31st, 2026. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and pesticide applicator qualifications. The role requires physical fitness and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions. Hourly pay ranges from $29.36 to $34.43, with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract.
  • Experience with weed and crop identification is an asset.
  • Pesticide Applicator's License or Authorized Assistant Certificate is an asset.
  • Ability to maintain equipment used, including changing oil.
  • Experience with spray truck, UTV, ATV, hand spraying, and trimming is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and document areas to be sprayed and determine priorities.
  • Safely load and fill water and chemicals for transport.
  • Identify target species and crop while moving.
  • Monitor usage of water and chemicals as well as weather conditions.
  • Operate and maintain spraying equipment.
