Job summary

Red Deer Public is seeking a Groundskeeper for a term contract from Nov 23, 2026 to Nov 17, 2027. The role involves seasonal landscaping, grounds maintenance, snow removal, and safe operation of vehicles and equipment across district facilities. Work from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3 pm.

The position pays starting at $29.42 per hour and requires a High School Diploma, Alberta Class 5 licence, and proven grounds maintenance experience. WHMIS and safety training are assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence with clean record.
• Experience in commercial grounds maintenance or related field.
• Experience operating skid-steer loaders, lawnmowers and other grounds equipment.
• Experience towing and operating district vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds at district facilities through seasonal landscaping and snow removal.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and vehicles.
• Manage safety, records and reporting; assist seasonal staff.
• Provide direction to summer students and report maintenance needs.
