Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking seasonal Field Laborers/Technicians for the 2026 archaeology field season, based out of the Hamilton, Ontario office.

Roles involve outdoor fieldwork, stage 2-4 archaeological tasks, site documentation, and collaboration with licensed archaeologists to support large projects across Ontario. Ideal candidates are current undergrad/grad students in anthropology or archaeology, able to travel and stay out-of-town as needed, with a valid G driver’s

Qualifications

• Past experience with physically demanding outdoor labor is essential.
• Able to travel within Ontario and stay out-of-town for short/long durations.
• G driver’s license preferred; may drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Stage 2-4 archaeological field work (test pit and pedestrian survey).
• Conduct archaeological site excavation and artifact collection.
• Document sites and adhere to HSSE policies and procedures.
• Follow directions of licensed archaeologists and project managers to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Collaborate with Indigenous communities to maintain relationships.
