Job summary

Amazon is hiring an SDE II on the Workforce Planning team in Vancouver. You will design and develop scalable solutions for workforce planning challenges, own features end-to-end, and mentor junior developers while driving architectural decisions.

Work with product and business teams to translate requirements into robust cloud-based solutions. You should demonstrate strong software design, architecture experience, and the ability to lead technical initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Join Amazon's innovative Strategic Workforce Planning (WFP) team, where we build scalable solutions for workforce composition, organizational structure, and geographical footprint while aligning cost optimization with business priorities. Our technologies drive operational efficiency, cost management, and business growth across Amazon's operations.

As an SDE II on the Workforce Planning team, you will design and develop scalable solutions that address Amazon's workforce planning challenges. You'll take ownership of key features and services, collaborating across teams to implement data-driven solutions for organizational planning and workforce optimization. You should be able to break down complex problems, mentor junior developers, and drive technical implementations in a fast-paced environment

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life & AD&D insurance), Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
