The Wealth Advisor Development Program (WADP) supports business succession planning and client guidance with structured growth opportunities. The program blends facilitator-led workshops with self-paced learning and runs twice a year over three months.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Participate in the WADP to develop confidence in communication, professional presence, and client discovery
  • Apply strategic advice and insights to set actionable development goals
  • Cultivate a growth mindset and gain tools to expand existing businesses and build new client relationships
  • Contribute to the effective and efficient operations of your team, aligned with ScotiaMcLeod’s core values
Skills and Qualities
  • 3–5 years of full-time business experience
  • Passion for client engagement and relationship building
  • Experience in a sales environment and interest in growing your own book of business
  • Background in finance, sales, or a professional designation (considered an asset)
  • Goal-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Required Certifications and Training
  • Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) Courses: completion of CSC I and II; must be enrolled in Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) by December 31, 2025
  • Upon hire: ScotiaMcLeod RR Dealer Member Training and ScotiaMcLeod Wealth Advisor Development Program (WADP)
  • Within 12 months: Insurance License and Wealth Management Essentials (WME) or Retail Securities Exam (launching in 2026)
  • Registrations and course requirements completed and reported by December 31, 2026
Assets and Preferences
  • Professional designations (e.g., CFP, QAFP, CA, CFA) could be advantageous
  • Multilingual ability may be beneficial depending on target markets
