Job summary

A regional educational authority in Kentville seeks an Information Technology Technician to support school-based systems. Responsibilities include installation of hardware and software, troubleshooting systems, and providing technical support. The ideal candidate will have completed a Technology Training program and possess strong communication skills. A valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License is required. Salary ranges from $54,259 to $67,824 annually.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Technology Training and Support program is required.
  • In-depth understanding of hardware and software; ability to troubleshoot computer systems.
  • A valid Nova Scotia Driver's License is required.
  • Experience in installation and troubleshooting of operating systems is required.
  • Experience in hardware repairs of end user devices, Chromebooks preferred.
  • Working knowledge of network systems is required.
  • Experience in installation and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment is an asset.
  • Previous experience providing technical support in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Industry certifications such as A+, Network+ are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and repair hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of industry standards.
