Job summary

Kirby Moor School in Brampton, Cumbria is seeking an experienced School Cleaner to join our friendly team. The role is part-time and term-time only, with options of 20 hours per week (3pm–7pm, Monday to Friday) or 10 hours per week (3pm–5pm, Monday to Friday).

You will clean and maintain our premises to high standards, including vacuuming, bin emptying, toilets, replenishing supplies, and ensuring a safe, tidy environment for pupils and staff. DBS check will be completed at no cost to you.

Qualifications

• Experience cleaning large commercial buildings, preferably educational facilities.
• Able to lift and move heavy equipment.
• Flexible approach to work and prepared to carry out all reasonable cleaning tasks.
• Familiar with cleaning products and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum cleaning and mopping floors
• Emptying and cleaning bins
• Cleaning toilets and bathroom spaces
• Replenishing bathroom supplies
• Dusting, polishing and straightening furniture and cupboard tops
• Tidying communal areas ensuring hazards are removed
• Wiping down paintwork including skirting boards and window ledges

We would also consider candidates looking to do a job share role - 10 hours per week, per person.

Role responsibilities

• Vacuum cleaning and mopping floors
• Emptying and cleaning bins
• Cleaning toilets and bathroom spaces
• Replenishing bathroom supplies
• Dusting, polishing and straightening furniture and cupboard tops
• Tidying communal areas ensuring hazards are removed
• Wiping down paintwork including skirting boards and window ledges

About You

• Previous professional experience of cleaning a large commercial building, preferably a school, college or university
• Able to lift and move heavy equipment
• Have a flexible approach to the work and prepared to carry out all reasonable cleaning tasks
• Able to use a wide range of cleaning equipment and products appropriately
• Prepared to undergo training in health & safety, confidentiality and safeguarding practice

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which will be met by Kirby Moor School.
