Job summary

North America Central School Bus is hiring for the 2025/2026 school year in Illinois. We seek dependable bus drivers to transport students on regular routes and charters, with a focus on safety and friendly customer service. This part-time role offers a wage of $24.00 per hour, guaranteed 4 hours per day, and weekly pay.

Flexible hours with no nights or weekends required, plus paid holidays and sick leave. CDL cost reimbursement is provided, and driver qualifications include a HS diploma, being

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license for 3+ years.
• Applicants must pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Drives regular route, spare or charter; reads route sheets and maps.
• Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus and child checks.
• Transport students safely and greet them positively.
• Cooperates with school personnel, parents, and students.
• Attends safety and training meetings.
• Exhibits clear verbal communication.

Major Responsibilities

• Drives a regular route, is a regular, spare or charter driver. Must read and understand street signs, route sheets and maps.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks.
• Transport students safely and greet the students with a positive attitude and smile.
• Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents, and students.
• Attendance at all safety and training meetings.
• Good verbal communication skills.

Minimum Education & Certifications Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must possess valid driver’s license for 3 years or longer.
• All driver applicants must pass a background check and drug test.
