Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is seeking a Scheduler, Processing Maintenance to collaborate with Plant Maintenance, Engineering and Operations to optimize resource use and minimize production disruption.

Ideal candidates will have strong organizational and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing in a fast-paced environment while supporting 13-week scheduling and effective work execution in British Columbia.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Journeyperson's ticket or related technical qualification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SIGGA planning and scheduling would be an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
  • Coordinate resources to match the schedule of planned activities.
  • Use CMMS and other applications to support scheduling and reporting.
  • Support a 13-week schedule window and load in CMMS.
  • Lead monthly shutdowns and readiness activities.
  • Publish weekly schedules to all stakeholders.
  • Participate in work control meetings and schedule walkthroughs.
  • Assist in collecting and tracking scheduling KPIs.
  • Schedule and review post PM and completed Work Orders.
  • Manage risks affecting schedules (weather, access, parts delivery).
  • Coordinate parts, materials delivery and staging via materials technicians.

About the role:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance Planning, the Scheduler, Processing Maintenance is responsible for collaborating with the Plant Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure efficient and effective use of resources and minimizing disruption to production.

In this role you will:
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Ensure all external and internal resources are verified to accommodate the schedule of planned activities
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other computer applications to support effective and efficient scheduling and reporting functions
  • Support a 13-week schedule window, communicate any resource concerns, and load appropriately in our CMMS
  • Take lead on coordinating monthly shutdowns and readiness activities
  • Ensure that weekly schedules are prepared, published, and issued to all stakeholders
  • Actively participate in work control meetings
  • Support daily schedule walkthroughs with supervisors to support effective work execution
  • Assist in the collection, tracking, and achievement of scheduling Key Performance Indicators
  • Schedule and participate in post Preventative Maintenance and completed Work Order quality reviews
  • Manage risks that may affect developed schedules, such as weather, working heights, confined or restricted workspace, and parts delivery delays
  • Coordinate parts and materials delivery and staging through materials technicians
  • Prepare a weekly schedule and review with the work execution group during a scheduling meeting to ensure finalized schedule is locked in and published by the deadline
  • Arrange and ensure that resources the Planners have identified as required to execute the work such as cranes, contractors, and other support equipment, will be available on the scheduled date and have been properly loaded into our CMMS
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment
  • Journeyperson's ticket, related technical diploma, engineering degree, or a relevant combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite® and proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SIGGA planning and scheduling would be an asset
  • Previous experience with materials acquisition, planning, or scheduling in a maintenance environment would be an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
Salary range: $109,000 - $134,000 CAD / year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
