Job summary

Brookfield Renewable N.A. in Gatineau, QC is seeking a SCADA/OT engineer to support the SCADA team with deploying, configuring, and managing control systems. You will develop HMI screens, manage data, and back up databases to support operators.

The role requires coordinating with remote assets, integrating new data sources, and traveling up to 10% within Canada. Experience in SCADA, SQL, Visual Basic, and UNIX environments is essential.

Qualifications

• Technologist in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience.
• Experience in the power industry (hydroelectric stations and wind farms).
• Technical knowledge of SCADA system operations and related subsystems, networks and protocols.
• Experience in database development, SQL and Visual Basic.
• Experience working in a UNIX environment.
• Ability to be mobile with up to 10% travel in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Support the SCADA team in deploying, configuring and managing systems.
• Develop or modify graphical screens for real-time data, historical trends, alarms, set points, and remote control interfaces.
• Perform system and database backups and provide data reports.
• Develop, maintain and validate data to meet operator requirements.
• Coordinate with remote assets on major SCADA projects and integrate new data sources.
