Job description
Role: SCADA Engineer

Location: Burnaby, BC

Contract Duration: 12 months

Max INC Rate: $60.80

Max T4 Rate: $50.25

General Description

The E2 Engineer performs supervised engineering tasks for assignments of limited scope and complexity, using standard procedures and techniques to support BC Hydro projects and operations. Work is completed safely, with quality, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of safe engineering solutions by performing studies of limited scope and applying prescribed methods and techniques to solve project or operational problems.
  • Support specific portions of more complex engineering work by following established analysis, design, or computation methods under close supervision of a senior professional engineer.
  • Participate in BC Hydro’s engineering practice by applying standards, following detailed instructions, and using judgment to make routine technical decisions that maintain engineering quality.
  • Perform periodic tasks independently, such as on-site construction quality control and monitoring, to ensure design compliance.
  • Work under BC Hydro’s Professional Practice Management Plan. Apply the appropriate Permit to Practice number when sealing work. All project documentation produced will be retained by BC Hydro in accordance with EGBC Bylaws.
Education and Skills
  • University degree in applied science or engineering.
  • Registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) with EGBC or eligible for registration.
  • Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards.
  • Ability to use standard industry design and analysis software.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Intermediate written and spoken English skills suitable for a professional environment.
