Job summary

emergiTEL Inc. in Calgary seeks a SAP Security Specialist to safeguard SAP environments within the IAM framework, embedding robust security governance, secure code execution, and advanced monitoring across development, QA and production.

You will ensure ABAP developments align with security and regulatory standards, establish an automated ABAP code review pipeline, and drive SAP Audit Log standardization and SIEM integration across application servers.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in SAP security, ABAP security analysis, and risk-based controls.
• Experience with SAP system hardening, Basis security, and secure ABAP deployments.
• Strong knowledge of SAP logging, security audit logs, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• SAP Security Posture Assessment
• Audit current SAP system parameters, RFC destinations, and encryption settings across Development, QA, and Production environments.
• Baseline the current state of custom ABAP code quality using automated scanning tools or manual reviews.
• ABAP Pipeline & Control Hardening
• Establish a repeatable, automated framework for secure ABAP code review within the deployment pipeline.
• Remediate critical security control gaps discovered during the Phase 1 assessment, ensuring alignment with required controls.
• Log Standardization & SIEM Integration
• Standardize SAP Security Audit Log configurations across all application servers to eliminate visibility blind spots.
• Define and implement specific alerting use cases (e.g., unauthorized debugging in production, critical table modifications) and map them directly into the enterprise SOC/SIEM platform.

Operating as a critical extension of the Enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM) team, your role focuses on embedding robust security governance, secure code execution, and advanced monitoring directly into our core banking environments. You will be responsible for validating that our SAP platforms, custom ABAP developments, and system configurations strictly align with the security, identity compliance, and regulatory standards required in a modern financial institution.
