Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will be working a mixture of on‑site and off‑site work at 1800 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in‑person presence for at least 40% of their work time.

About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full‑time Analyst, Master Data to join our dynamic Procurement team in our Finance and Corporate Services division.

The Procurement team is responsible for driving strategic procurement practices throughout Canadian Blood Services. This means providing strategic procurement support through the development of requests for proposals, contract negotiations and supplier qualifications for critical supplies and services. The team works to continuously enhance procurement policies and procedures and helps manage our relationships with suppliers.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Materials Management, you will support the organization with all aspects of master data in SAP. You will ensure that SAP master data remains current and aligned with business requirements while providing ongoing support to the Supervisor, Materials Management.

Formula for Success
  • Use your skills in SAP master data management to create and maintain master data in accordance with business requirements, policies and procedures. Work independently with clients to identify requirements, ensure client satisfaction with service delivery, and provide customer support to troubleshoot issues.

Apply your attention to detail to create, delete, and modify master data in the following areas: Material Masters, Customer Masters, Cost Elements and Cost Element Groups, Information Records and Valuation Classes, and other related master data such as Pricing Records, Assortment Modules, Source Lists, Batch Masters, Serial Numbers, Storage Bins, General Ledger accounts, Cost Centers, and VATP material types.

Utilize your analytical abilities to ensure the integrity of SAP master data through ongoing analysis and participate in data integrity clean‑up projects. Assist in the development of master data reports to support data analysis and identify deviations from accepted standards.

Draw on your problem‑solving skills to analyse user requests, complete or direct resolutions, and assist business owners in understanding relevant master data and integration points within the system.

Contribute your knowledge of business processes by supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of internal controls. Assist in the review process, including contributing to the development of standards, procedures and training materials.

Demonstrate your understanding of system testing by performing user acceptance testing on IT applications or systems to ensure business requirements are met, including new test scripts and patches or upgrades in SAP.

Desired Education and Skills
  • Post‑secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, preferably college courses in Supply Management.
  • Minimum four years of job‑related experience using SAP.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational, multi‑tasking and time‑management skills.
  • Functional knowledge of SAP modules related to Materials Management, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Sales and Distribution, Finance and Controlling.
  • Process knowledge of the Logistical Information System in SAP.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, ITSM and EtQ.
  • Professional business conduct and strong client relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good customer‑relations skills and teamwork.
  • Experience with GMP is an asset.

What You Can Expect
  • This role will work in a hybrid environment, with requirements to be on site at 1800 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, Ontario 40% of the time (2 days a week).
  • You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
