Job summary

Sopra Steria Canada is seeking a Senior SAP Functional Expert - Finance & Controlling (FICO) with deep SAP S/4HANA Finance expertise to lead our financial transformation initiatives. The candidate will drive FI/CO design, configuration, and integration across global entities and collaborate with finance leadership, auditors, and IT architects.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in SAP FICO, with 3+ years on S/4HANA Finance, and a strong grasp of IFRS/GAAP, closing processes, and cross-module

Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP FICO experience including at least 3+ years on SAP S/4HANA Finance.
• Deep functional expertise in SAP FI (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Banking) and CO (Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, Profitability Analysis).
• Proven experience delivering S/4HANA Finance projects (migration, greenfield, or brownfield).
• Excellent understanding of IFRS/GAAP, closing processes, and tax/legal compliance.
• Strong integration knowledge with logistics, manufacturing, and HR modules.
• Experience writing FS, configuration documents, and test scenarios.
• Strong communication and senior stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, configuration, and optimization of SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI and CO) across global entities.
• Translate complex finance requirements into scalable S/4HANA solutions aligned with SAP Best Practices.
• Drive implementation of S/4HANA innovations: Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, CO-PA, Central Finance, Group Reporting.
• Define functional specs for custom developments, interfaces, and Fiori apps.
• Manage integration between Finance and other S/4HANA modules: MM, SD, PP, PS.
• Support finance transformation initiatives: shared services, IFRS compliance, entity harmonization, real-time reporting.
• Lead blueprinting, configuration, testing, training, migration, cutover, and hyper care.
• Collaborate with finance leadership, auditors, and IT to ensure compliance, performance, and scalability.
• Mentor junior consultants and business users in S/4HANA Finance processes.
• Contribute during presales and business growth.

We are looking for a Senior SAP Functional Expert - Finance & Controlling (FICO) with deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA Finance to lead our financial transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with S/4HANA innovations (Universal Journal, Advanced Financial Closing, Central Finance, Group Reporting), strong knowledge of finance and controlling processes, and a passion for modernizing financial systems to enable real-time insights and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, configuration, and optimization of SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI and CO modules) across global entities.

• Define and deliver functional specifications for custom developments, interfaces (APIs, BAPIs), and Fiori applications.
• Manage integration between Finance and other S/4HANA modules: MM, SD, PP, PS
• Support finance transformation initiatives: shared services, IFRS compliance, entity harmonization, faster close, real-time reporting.
• Lead and participate in key phases: blueprinting, configuration, testing, training, mi-gration, cutover, and hyper care.
• Collaborate with finance leadership, auditors, and IT architects to ensure system com-pliance, performance, and scalability.
• Mentor and coach junior consultants and business users in S/4HANA Finance process-es.
• Contribute during presales process and business growth.
