Job summary

A leading mining company is seeking a Sanitation Worker for its Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The successful candidate will maintain sanitation standards in underground facilities while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role requires previous underground mining experience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The position follows a 7/7 schedule, working 10 hours a day, fostering a safe and clean working environment.

Qualifications

  • Underground experience as a Miner 4 or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of mining operations is beneficial.
  • Experience in a similar role is considered an asset.

  • Support sanitation supplies & controls at refuge stations and washrooms.

Your next challenge

Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. You will be responsible for the proper sanitation and housekeeping of our underground facilities. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Maintain a high standard of personal health and hygiene.
  • Support the sanitation supplies & controls at refuge stations and washrooms.
  • Ability & knowledge to safely work with chemicals.
  • Be competent in noticing and maintaining facilities where able and reporting where they are not.
  • Work independently and with others to support the sanitation needs of the underground operation.
  • Keep work areas clean free from hazards.
  • Listen to and communicate with others, record accurate records on 5-point card, aligning with daily tasks assigned.
  • Work with others to meet and where possible exceed daily KPI’s set by Supervisor.
What you need to succeed
  • Underground experience as a Miner 4 or equivalent.
  • Common Core; Knowledge of mining; Experience in a similar role is considered an asset.

  • Schedule: 7/7 schedule (10 hours per day) at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
