Job summary

BIOVECTRA, now part of Agilent, is a leader in contract development and manufacturing for active pharmaceutical ingredients, including microbial fermentation and sterile filling. The Process Steward/Sanitation Technician supports production with cleanroom sanitation, equipment cleaning, and process improvements.

The role offers full-time hours on a rotating shift (7 am–7 pm; 7 pm–7 am) with a salary range of CAD 17.10–29.93 per hour, plus bonus, stock, and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years’ experience.
• Post secondary education with a diploma in an applicable area of study is considered an asset.
• Industrial/pharmaceutical or FDA-regulated environment experience is an asset.
• WHMIS certification and First Aid would be considered an asset.
• cGMP experience an asset.
• Ability to follow strict SOPs with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to weigh and measure chemical materials for production.
• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize and clean an industrial clean room environment where pharmaceuticals are manufactured.
• Operate manual and automated equipment; handle hazardous materials safely.
• Perform process sampling and support production technicians and supervisors.
• Collaborate with other departments on training for manufacturing batches.
• Provide feedback to improve SOPs and process documentation.
• Participate in the quality management system and maintain batch records and work instructions.
• Assist with housekeeping, equipment cleaning, warehousing, material staging and tanker operations.
• Wearing PPE as required.

The Process Steward/Sanitation Technician, Production

will be responsible for executing routine production operations with the highest regard for safety, excellence and quality. The Process Steward will be required to provide assistance to the Production Technicians and Supervisors, as well as working with the manufacturing team to maximize production efficiency and meet departmental and company goals.

Shift: 7 am -7pm 4 on / 4 off for two weeks and 7 pm to 7 am 4 on / 4 off for next two weeks. Rotates back to days.

Sanitizing and cleaning of an industrial clean room environment where pharmaceuticals are manufactured to include, duct work, manufacturing equipment, floors, walls and outdoor areas.

• Operating manual and automated equipment.
• Handling of hazardous materials including acids, bases, solvents, potent compounds, and APIs safely and properly.
• Performing process sampling.
• Collaborating with other departments on process and equipment training for successful completion of manufacturing batches.
• Providing feedback to influence continuous improvements during the review and revision of Standard Operating Procedures and other process documentation.
• Participating in BIOVECTRA's quality management system, focusing on the batch production records, work instructions, adherence to policies and standard operating procedures at all times
• Assisting with housekeeping, equipment cleaning, general warehousing, material staging and tanker operations as required.
• Will be required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) while performing duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years’ experience.
• Post secondary education with a diploma in an applicable area of study is considered an asset.
• Industrial experience in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing FDA regulated environment would be considered a major asset.
• WHMIS certification (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and First Aid, would be considered a major asset.
• Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) experience an asset.
• Ability to follow strict standard operating procedures and excellent attention to details is required.
• Ability to accurately weigh and measure chemical materials needed for the production of pharmaceutical products.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a dynamic team environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communicator, both written and oral.

This job has a full time weekly schedule.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $17.10 - $29.93/hr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
