Job Description

About the Role: The Weekends Sanitation employee at the Kitchener location is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the plant, and equipment, including the common areas, and process equipment. Provides support to all areas of the plant that require sanitation.

You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Prepare production equipment for cleaning by disassembling, cleaning and sanitizing all food‑processing equipment, including storage areas, and common areas such as floors, drains, and walls.
  • Safely operate cleaning equipment including, but not limited to floor scrubber and other cleaning tools.
  • Safely work with chemicals and follow chemical usage labels for application and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct self‑inspections after task completion to ensure cleanliness, and compliance with all food safety regulations and guidelines to minimize potential food safety risks.
  • Performs all tasks in accordance with GMP’s, food safety, company policies, and procedures.
Important Details

This is a part‑time permanent role on the weekend shift, which operates from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

About You

You’ll fit right in if you have:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment – food manufacturing, experience with exposure to dust and allergens, temperature variations, heat, humidity, and wet conditions during cleanup.
  • Ability to handle the physically demanding nature of the position, including ability to climb, push/pull, carry, grasp, reach, twist, turn, stoop and lift/carry up to 50 lbs, ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, along with demonstrated experience following instructions/process documents and providing effective communication, both verbal and written.
