Job summary

Weir Minerals U.S. in Elliot Lake, ON is seeking a Sandblaster to operate sandblasting equipment and move materials safely in a night-shift, onsite role. You will handle material transport, surface preparation, and adhere to strict safety standards in a controlled booth environment.

Requirements include 1+ year of physical labor and a high school diploma. Prior forklift experience and surface prep exposure are a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of physical labor, industrial, or shop experience in a manually demanding role.
• Comfortable working independently in an isolated environment such as a sandblasting booth.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Move products into the sandblasting booth using a forklift, ensuring safe and efficient transport of materials.
• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare equipment surfaces to a white metal finish, working independently in the booth to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Accurately complete and maintain traveler information and other work documents; report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
• Inspect surfaces post-blasting to ensure thorough cleaning and apply the correct adhesives or primers following established procedures.
• Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What you’ll bring
