ALS is a global leader in testing with a dedicated Sample Preparation team in Canada. The Sample Preparation Technician will handle client samples, preparing them for analysis in our labs to support fast, reliable results for mining, environment science and industry.

• Strong hand eye coordination and attention to detail.

• Basic alphanumeric comprehension.

• Good organizational habits and reliability.

Responsabilités

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision.
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision.
• Maintain own production logs.
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness.
• May assist with layout duties/tasks.
• Use correct methods in accordance with established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Position

Within the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample Preparation Technician will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

The Sample Prep Technician is the starting point of the testing workflow, your work ensures every samples is prepared with precision so our clients receive fast, reliable results that drive important decisions across mining, environment science and industry.

What you'll do

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision;
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision;
• Maintain own production logs;
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
• May assists with layout duties/tasks;

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks
• Ability to stand for a full shift
• Ability to be clean shaven to ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) fit
• Ability to wear PPE such as dust masks and gloves
• Occasional desk-based tasks

Our benefits include:

• An estimated hourly pay of $22.77 CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
• Additional hourly pay for evening and night shifts.

- Afternoon Shift Premium $2.00/hour

- Night Shift Premium $4.00/hour
