About The Role – Business Development Manager – Mining Sector (Vancouver BC)

Orica Digital Solutions is hiring a Business Development Manager for North America (US and Canada). This position will focus on new business in the mining sector on behalf of 3vGeomatics.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who will play a critical role in expanding our business, leveraging advanced geospatial technologies and Orica's innovative solutions in the mining industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong network within the mining sector, expertise in remote sensing, and the drive to exceed sales targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.

As a key member of the business development team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with top-tier mining companies, driving sales, and positioning 3vG’s cutting‑edge technology as a leader in the industry. You will be the liaison between 3vGeomatics and the mining industry in North America, aligning our services with the evolving needs of the sector.

This role is primarily hybrid work from Mount Pleasant / Vancouver, BC, offers great potential for career growth, competitive compensation and benefits package, and a fast‑paced growth‑oriented environment.

What you will be doing
  • Develop, implement, and deliver a sales strategy aligned with overall business goals and Orica’s core values to increase market share and achieve profitable growth.
  • Qualify incoming leads for sales opportunities.
  • Research industry trends and identify new business expansion opportunities.
  • Source new leads, initiate sales efforts, present the 3vG platform to prospective clients, and close deals.
  • Gain technical proficiency in the group’s product offerings for the specific market sector to facilitate technical customer meetings.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
  • Execute the sales strategy and achieve sales targets within the assigned portfolio, with leadership team support.
  • Manage the annual sales budget.
  • Consistently utilize CRM for documenting customer correspondence and follow‑up activities.
  • Provide support for Project/Account Management and after‑sales services.
  • Represent the company at industry exhibitions, conferences, and network with professional organizations to enhance company presence and reputation.
  • Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals to customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will bring
  • Ability to develop sales pipeline

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3 days in office/2 days remote

Expected Travel: 30% to customer site and general field work areas

Participation in industry events, workshops, and conferences

  • MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geotechnical, Geological, Mining, Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years of proven success in business development, sales, and managing a sales territory within the mining sector; experience in remote sensing is preferred.
  • Strong customer service experience, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport and manage relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Ability to work remotely and travel within North America as required by the role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

  • Salary range: $92,000 - $112,000 CAD
