We are seeking a results-oriented and driven Field Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building world-class relationships with major home center retail partners, driving in-store sales, and leading a team of Merchandisers & Counselors (M&Cs) to maximize the presence and performance of Scotts Miracle-Gro brands in your assigned territory.
Retail Partner Management : Cultivate and maintain exceptional relationships with major home center retailers (e.g., The Home Depot, Rona).
Sales & Growth : Drive in-store sales growth, aligning efforts with Scotts’ overarching Sales and Marketing objectives.
Strategic Planning : Assess local market opportunities and utilize strategic selling tactics, including analyzing key metrics and preparing Business Line Reviews, to educate partners and drive joint business opportunities.
Inventory Optimization : Manage the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) program to ensure optimal product levels and drive regional growth.
Lead the full lifecycle of team management : develop recruiting plans, interview, and make hiring decisions for the Merchandiser & Counselor (M&C) team.
Manage, direct, and coach M&Cs, including planning, scheduling, delegating work assignments, and providing consistent, ongoing feedback.
Product Expertise : Provide thorough product knowledge and education to retail staff and consumers, regularly conducting in-season workshops.
Merchandising Excellence : Collaborate with retailers on the proper merchandising of Scotts’ product lines, ensuring effective use of point-of-purchase (POP) materials.
Financial Management : Effectively manage and control the regional budget and expenditures.
