A leading event management firm in Halifax is seeking a sales executive who will be responsible for selling sponsorship and exhibition space at prestigious conferences throughout North America. The ideal candidate has a strong sales background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with clients. Experience in the maritime or transportation sectors is a plus. This role requires proactive engagement with decision makers and the ability to manage high volumes of sales calls.
Job description
We are currently seeking a strong, experienced sales executive who will be responsible for sponsorship and exhibition space sales on three to four annual events across North America. These are prestigious conferences and exhibitions and have credibility and support from leading private sector and government institutions.
The primary role will involve developing partnerships with Sponsors and Exhibitors :
Previous experience in port, transportation, maritime and / security business is desirable but candidates with relevant transferable skills and experiences may be considered.
Fluency in French or Spanish would be an advantage.
Early availability
The candidate must be proactive in exploring the universe of the market they are working on, and comfortable engaging key decision makers in international companies. It is crucial that this candidate has the confidence and ability to make a high volume of high quality sales calls on a daily basis, engage the prospects and create quality proposals. The candidate must have the ability to listen to the prospect and employ a consultative sales approach, well researched on every call, and require an intelligent, engaging approach.
