Job description

About Us

At Planitar, we build technology that helps people see and understand the world’s spaces more clearly. We are the creators of iGUIDE, a powerful property technology solution that combines immersive 3D tours, accurate floor plans and reliable spatial data into a single, easy-to-use system. Our cameras and software platform are used by professionals in real estate, insurance, construction and property management to simplify their work and deliver better results. Planitar recently joined REA Group, one of the world’s leading digital property companies. REA operates Australia’s largest residential and commercial property platforms, including realestate.com.au and has a growing global footprint across Asia and North America. Together, we are shaping the future of property technology, combining Planitar’s deep spatial data expertise with REA’s global scale and innovation engine. WHERE DOES REA FIT IN? With bold and ambitious goals, REA Group is changing the way the world experiences property. No matter where you’re at on your property journey, we’re here to help with every step – whether that’s finding, understanding or financing your next home. We operate Australia’s leading residential and commercial property websites – realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au – among other leading brands in Australia and India. iGUIDE is part of the REA family and iGUIDE and REA teams work closely together, supporting consumers with more immersive experiences to help them make more informed property decisions.

A connected future where reliable spatial data enables informed decisions across the property lifecycle.

OUR VALUES
  • Integrity: We do the right thing even when it’s hard.
  • Teamwork: We are one team, on a big mission.
  • Innovation: We value creative solutions for emerging opportunities.
  • Accountability: We honour our commitments.
About The Role

The Sales Development Representative is a full-cycle sales role designed to be the engine of growth for Planitar’s Small-to-Medium Business (SMB) market in Australia. Rather than focusing solely on lead qualification or top-of-funnel handoffs, this role owns the entire sales cycle for SMB prospects: identifying opportunities, initiating outreach, diagnosing needs, demonstrating value, managing follow-up, overcoming objections and closing business. The SDR will sell iGUIDE solutions by guiding independent real estate photographers, agency marketing managers, architecture, engineering and construction professionals, and insurance repair and claims stakeholders through the purchase process for camera hardware, including the PLANIX R1, and processing packages.

Responsibilities
  • Prospecting and pipeline generation: Actively research, identify and prioritise SMB prospects and accounts across the Residential Real Estate, Architecture Engineering & Construction, and Insurance Repairs & Claims markets using CRM data, industry sources, digital channels and sales tools.
  • Outbound engagement: Initiate targeted outreach through phone, email and social platforms,
  • creating meaningful conversations that uncover business needs and position iGUIDE’s value proposition
  • Discovery and qualification: Assess each prospect’s fit, needs, budget, timeline, current workflow and decision‑making process to determine the right iGUIDE solution and sales path.
  • Value demonstration: Deliver clear, tailored product conversations and demonstrations that show how iGUIDE, floorplans, 3D tour experiences, property data, PLANIX R1 hardware and processing packages solve customer problems.
  • Full-cycle deal management: Own SMB opportunities from first contact through to close, including follow‑up, objection handling, commercial discussions, purchase guidance and support through the buying process.
  • Lead nurturing and customer education: Build and maintain relationships with prospects over time, providing relevant information, use cases and guidance that helps them confidently adopt iGUIDE solutions.
  • Data and pipeline management: Keep accurate records of all prospect interactions, deal stages, next steps and sales activity in the CRM to support forecasting, reporting and performance tracking.
  • Strategic opportunity handoff: Identify larger or enterprise‑level opportunities, including multi‑state networks, AEC firms, insurance networks and commercial contracts, and coordinate high‑quality handoffs with the Director of Sales and Customer Solutions Engineer.
  • Continuous learning: Stay updated on market trends, product knowledge, competitive positioning and sales techniques to improve conversion, close rates and customer outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Experience or strong capability in full-cycle sales, including prospecting, discovery, value demonstration, negotiation, objection handling and closing.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with CRM software, sales tools and communication platforms to manage pipeline, track interactions and maintain accurate deal data.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to balance outbound prospecting, active opportunities, follow‑ups, administration and closing activity.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication abilities to engage prospects, run discovery, convey value propositions, explain purchasing steps and handle objections confidently.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly, establish trust and develop commercial relationships with potential customers across RRE, AEC and IRC segments.
  • A solid understanding of sales processes, pipeline management and consultative selling techniques, with the confidence to own a sales target and drive opportunities to close.
  • The tenacity to handle rejection, maintain disciplined follow‑up and continue pursuing qualified prospects with a positive, outcomes‑focused attitude.
  • The capability to manage and prioritise a high volume of leads, active deals, tasks and follow‑ups in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in researching and sourcing potential customers, gathering relevant information about their businesses, and tailoring outreach to their market segment and workflow.
  • The willingness to learn and adapt to changing market conditions, product offerings, pricing pathways and sales approaches.
  • The ability to collaborate with marketing, sales leadership and customer solutions teams, including knowing when and how to elevate larger opportunities for strategic support.
  • A strong understanding of Planitar’s products and services, or the ability to quickly learn them, to clearly articulate the value of iGUIDE, floorplans, 3D virtual tours, property data, PLANIX R1 hardware and processing packages.
  • A self‑motivated, commercial and results‑oriented mindset, with a drive to achieve and exceed sales targets, conversion goals and performance metrics.

  • Hybrid work environment (work out of REA Group office spaces!)
  • Annual professional development incentive
  • Opportunities to grow as we scale
  • The backing of a global industry leader through REA Group
