The Home Depot Canada is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver fast, friendly service by actively engaging customers and assessing their needs for home improvement solutions. You will represent product knowledge across departments and help customers complete projects with confidence.

In this role, you will greet, engage, and thank customers, promote value-added services, and maintain store standards. A flexible schedule, safety awareness, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 to 2 years retail or trade experience an asset.
• Ability to greet, engage, and thank customers while building product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer satisfaction by following GET Model: Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking customers.
• Actively seek customers throughout the store and escort them to appropriate merchandise.
• Ask open-ended questions about customers' projects to determine needs and expertise.
• Promote services such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, Pro Services, etc.
• Discuss options (good, better, best) and suggest related items or services beyond the department.
• Educate customers about the whole project and related components.
• Maintain knowledge of products in and adjacent departments.
• Follow safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.

Sales Associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. Sales Associates have an emphasis on department and product knowledge, provide information on product features and are familiar with related items in order to sell an entire project. Associates in this position know how to greet, engage, and thank every customer in their department and know how to provide basic service in adjacent departments. Sales Associates are focused on customer service and finding and solving customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures Customer Satisfaction

• Following Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customer
• Actively seek customers throughout the store and escort customers to appropriate merchandise, regardless of department
• Ask open ended questions about the customer’s projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertise
• Promote services offered such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, Pro Services, etc. and how to recommend them

Drives Sales

• Discuss available options (good, better, best) and suggest related items/services outside of department that the customer may need
• Educate customers about the whole project
• Using empowerment program when necessary to satisfy customers
• Execute daily stock maintenance: all products signed, displayed, and clean
