Doidge Building Centres Ltd. in Canada is seeking a Part-time Sales Associate to deliver friendly service, drive sales, and maintain store presentation while assisting customers in-store and over the phone.

You will work with a dynamic team, support inventory accuracy, and participate in training programs. This role offers career growth, a comprehensive benefits package, and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in the building and construction industry preferred.
• Exemplary listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible availability based on store needs (including evenings and weekends).
• Physically demanding; able to use ladders, climb, lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and influence sales performance with positive feedback and recognition.
• Build strong and lasting relationships with our retail, professional, and contractor customers.
• Assists customers with their information/product requirements in the store or over the telephone. Processes sales and special orders.
• Understands and executes merchandising and marketing initiatives developed by management.
• Ensure inventory integrity and identify potential sources of inventory losses.
• Executes corrective measures as required in conjunction with the Branch Manager.
• Shrink conscious and works diligently to reduce loss.
• Assists with other team members’ training on sales and service techniques.
• Opportunities exist for RONA training programs and formal/informal vendor training.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.

Job description

The Part-time Sales Associate is a key customer-facing role responsible for delivering exceptional service standards and maximizing sales and gross margin while providing the customers with the best shopping experience possible. The Sales Associate will develop and maintain effective sales and oversee specific sales areas designated by the Branch Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Physically demanding; Use of ladders, climbing and lifting techniques when required. Light and medium lifting (up to 50 lbs) are a component of this position
• First aid trained an asset
