Job description

Jealous Fruits is the northernmost large scale cherry producer in North America. We grow premium cherries along the shores of Okanagan Lake in the renowned Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. Our cherries are all hand packed in our state-of-the-art facility, located right on our farm, and shipped to our customers worldwide.

Job Description
  • The workers are needed to meet with customers and educate on our farm practices and processing procedures to coordinate the sale of our cherries. They assist in placing orders (and tracking these orders as shipments), they also ensure that all documents are complete and maintained. They manage all daily orders for retail accounts (and progress of these orders). They maintain communication with Sales, logistics and fulfillment teams for all sales orders. Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • This job requires that the workers work at our office/plant. They will need to go into the processing plant to oversee processing of our cherries (the processing plant is approx. 0 degrees, and hairnets, gloves, and masks must be worn as well as all hand hygiene and food safe practices be followed). They need to be able to lift cases of cherries (upwards of 25 lbs) Previous experience is also an asset in an agricultural environment (either nursery, orchard, vineyard or other agricultural farming background).
Additional Information

Our working environment is extremely challenging over a short period of time. Applicants should be aware that this is a farming environment and days off may be limited during our growing and packing season. Applicants should be aware that:

  • Work hours are not calendar based, but are dependent on crop maturity and weather.
  • Work hours are generally at least 60 hours per week and can be longer.
  • As this is agricultural employment, overtime provisions do not apply for these positions.
  • Environment can be cold.
  • Be always aware of working area, as machinery and pallet jacks will be in operation around you.
  • The candidate must have the ability to work well with people of varying backgrounds and nationalities.
  • Must be available from late June to early September.
  • Great teamwork environment.
