Job summary

Nutrien is a leading provider of crop inputs and services, and Nutrien Ag Solutions is the retail division of Nutrien, offering solutions through a network of crop consultants across locations worldwide.

What You'll Do includes recommending products, managing grower plots, analyzing test results, and promoting seed varieties and Loveland products to farmers. A Grade 12 with agriculture cert and sales experience are preferred, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent, supplemented with a Certificate in Agriculture or Agri-Business or equivalent post-secondary education.
• Sales experience is required.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Recommend Nutrien products and fertilizer products to customers.
• Identify and manage grower demonstration plots for varietal comparison.
• Gather, compile, analyze and interpret test results and prepare progress reports.
• Design and inspect program experiments; ensure application of seeding, fertility and pesticide is optimal.
• Distribute variety information and recommendations to staff and customers; participate in customer information meetings.
• Liaise with industry contacts and promote Proven Seed varieties, Loveland Products and related services.

What You'll Do

• Recommend appropriate Nutrien products and fertilizer products to customers
• Identify, procure and care for grower demonstration plots for varietal comparison purposes
• Gather, compile, analyze and interpret test results and prepare and forward progress reportsDesign and inspect program experiment, records, notes and seasonal staff logbooks. Ensure that application of seeding, fertility and pesticide occurs when weather condition are optimalRegularly search for new opportunities that will enhance or expand the Company’s market presencePlan and conduct the field testing of designated research material using defined methods that will ensure accuracy and optimize results under experimental protocolInteract with Division and Branch Management to convey results and provide recommendations based on active knowledge of marketing requirementsDistribute variety information and recommendations to staff and customers. Attend and participate in customer information meetings as directed. Present technical information related to seed varieties and other marketing programsLiaise with appropriate industry contactsAssist in promotion and recommendation of Proven Seed varieties and Loveland Products and Echelon services to farm customers through product knowledge and local field trialsIdentify local weed species, and be familiar with the biology and control of local pestsInterpret soil and tissue tests and required, and be able to recommend best practices for soil fertility management for local customersUnderstand proper method for soil or tissue testing for customers

What You'll Bring

• Grade 12 or recognized equivalent, supplemented with effective completion of Certificate in Agriculture, Agri-Business Certificate, or equivalent post-secondary education
• Sales experience
• Valid class 5 driver’s license
