Job summary

Nutrien Ag Solutions is seeking a Sales Agronomist I (T) in Balcarres, SK to build client relationships and provide agronomic guidance and product recommendations.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will conduct soil and crop analyses, maintain customer profiles, and stay current on Nutrien product offerings while upholding safety and EH&S standards. You will travel locally with a valid Canadian driver’s license and pursue CSA or P.Ag. accreditation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years agri-business or related customer service experience.
• 2+ years sales experience in agriculture or related fields.
• Valid Canadian driver's license and ability to obtain accreditation (CCA or P.Ag.).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential customers for profitable business.
• Provide agronomic information and advice; connect clients with specialists as needed.
• Conduct soil, tissue, weed, pest, and water analysis to support fertility decisions.
• Address technical inquiries with accurate, timely responses.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Sales Agronomist is accountable to meet and exceed annual sales goals and profit margin objectives of Nutrien Ag Solutions products and services.

What You'll Do:

• Develop and maintain effective business relations with current and potential customers, based on an approach to target customers that would result in a profitable business relationship
• Provide agronomic information and advice to current and potential customers – arranging for access to specialists and learning opportunities where necessary
• Conduct soil, tissue, weed, pest, and water analysis to recommend best practices for soil fertility management to customers
• Research and respond to technical inquiries
• Maintain and analyze a database/record of customer profiles (product usage and service requirements) to identify, categorize, and prioritize customer base
• Communicate a variety of information and recommendations to staff and customers
• Maintain knowledge of Nutrien Ag Solutions product offerings, including features, benefits, and uses
• Champion Nutrien’s culture of care and comply with Nutrien, industry regulatory, and EH&S standards

What You'll Bring:

• 5+ years of progressively responsible agri-business and/or other related customer service function
• Post-secondary education in Agriculture; equivalent in experience may be considered
• 2+ years of sales experience
• Must possess a valid Canadian driver’s license
• CCA or P.Ag. accreditation, or ability to obtain
