One Floral Group is a wholesale flower producer that provides tailored floral solutions to retail customers throughout North America and is one of the fastest growing producers of floral products. Our business has over five million square feet of growing and production space in more than six facilities in three different climate zones. We have the ability to grow and build a variety of products, including potted plants and planters, outdoor lawn and garden plants, and vegetable propagation in the best conditions.

The Dormant Hydrangea (Sales) Account Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving sales, forecasting, and overall business performance of One Floral’s Dormant and Pre-Finished Hydrangea programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing, this position leads the sales and marketing strategy to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and partners—delivering value-based solutions that strengthen One Floral’s market presence in both Canada and the U.S.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable professional with exceptional accuracy, organization, and follow-through skills. They must be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team. Success in this position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

This role is accountable for leading, managing, and growing the Dormant and Pre-Finished Hydrangea business line over the next three years, ensuring profitability, brand alignment, and program execution through close collaboration with internal departments and external partners.

Education and experience required:
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in sales or category management within horticulture or floriculture
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Horticulture, or a related discipline is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions to those at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to adapt positively to a fast paced, challenging and constantly changing work environment.
  • Proven success in sales forecasting, business development, and managing product-specific growth strategies.
  • Strong understanding of Dormant and Pre-Finished product cycles, market seasonality, and retail programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • High proficiency in Excel, ERP/CRM systems, and data-driven analysis.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout North America and Europe as required
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales, Forecasting & Customer Relations
  • Develop, lead, and execute sales programs that align with One Floral’s strategic growth plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, brokers, and industry partners across Canada and the U.S.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts based on market trends, historical data, and production capacity to guide internal planning and inventory management.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and key channel partnerships to expand One Floral’s footprint in the U.S. market.
  • Manage customer communication on product availability, staging, and specifications.
  • Lead the Dormant Hydrangea and Paniculata sales programs through trade show representation and ongoing client engagement.
  • Travel as required to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and conduct seasonal planning sessions.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Program Leadership & Brand Management
  • Oversee all aspects of the Dormant and Pre-Finished Hydrangea line as a standalone business unit, ensuring strategic alignment with One Floral’s corporate objectives.
  • Direct brand strategy, marketing initiatives, retail programs, and grower allocations specific to the Dormant/Pre-Finished portfolio.
  • Manage the dedicated marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective brand representation at events and within retail programs.
  • Serve as the primary contact for breeder and grower relationships, maintaining close coordination with the CEO and Director of Growing.
  • Provide final approval for all branding and creative materials (tags, pots, signage, and packaging) within this product line.
  • Prioritize field and sample space for Dormant and Pre-Finished trials and showcase initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development and Operations teams to ensure product quality, timing, and retail-readiness align with customer expectations.
Administrative & Analytical Functions
  • Write and manage customer orders based on customer-specific sales data and forecasts to match historical and seasonal trends.
  • Use Ball WebTracker and internal systems to monitor inventory, order flow, and delivery timing.
  • Coordinate with an assigned Administrative/Analyst team member for data tracking, reporting, and purchase order management.
  • Analyze sales performance and profitability to make data-driven decisions for sales strategy adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to design and execute customer-specific programs that reflect current floral trends and align with brand direction.
  • Work with Finance to ensure accurate forecasting, revenue tracking, and contribution margin analysis for the Dormant Hydrangea line.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution
  • Partner with Business Development, Product Development, Operations, and Logistics to ensure full program execution from production to delivery.
  • Lead alignment meetings to synchronize sales forecasts, production scheduling, and logistics planning.
  • Ensure smooth information flow across departments to maintain on-time order fulfillment and consistent communication.
  • Actively participate in strategy sessions to plan and deliver business growth targets over the next three years.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to cross-functional team members involved in program execution.

Additional Information

Reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing

Start Date: As soon as possible

Hours of work: M-F 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, weekends and evenings as per business needs

Salary: Competitive salary based on experience, Short-term incentive plan based on department and company performance

Vacation: 3 weeks of prorated vacation

Benefits: Extended Health and Dental Effective immediately
