JOB PURPOSE
To provide a wide range of nursing care to cancer patients and their families, within the scope of educational preparation, in a collaborative environment. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the RN plans, prioritizes and implements patient care; documents patient care, takes lead in complex nursing situations, IV and chemotherapy administration, administers medication, mentors’ junior staff and LPNAs, exercises judgement and accepting responsibility appropriate to job description and is accountable for own actions. Treats patients with respect and dignity in adherence to the mission and values of Horizon Health.
