Job description
Job Purpose

The Advanced Care Paramedic provides comprehensive care to the emergency patient population in an interdisciplinary team environment. Integrating paramedics into our emergency healthcare model aims to meet the healthcare needs of patients by enabling them to receive comprehensive care with the appropriate provider based on their specific healthcare needs.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an approved Advanced Care Paramedic program/course with at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Registration good standing with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the competencies of ACLS, BLS, NRP and PALS or willingness to obtain.
  • Current knowledge of the CTAS guidelines.
  • Reliable attendance record with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to fulfill all duties associated with the position.
Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations, rapidly changing priorities, and complex patient care needs.
  • Conducts medical assessments and interventions within the Advanced Care Paramedic scope of practice.
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop appropriate care plans.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Basic 12 lead ECG interpretation as demonstrated by certification and /or written and practical testing.
  • Providing health education to clients and their caregivers.
  • Maintaining records and documentation.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all aspects of work.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
