Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an experienced Safety Trainer to deliver equipment safety and operator training across multiple modalities. You will publish class schedules, run private on-site trainings, and maintain meticulous training records.

You will also mentor Certified Evaluators and support onboarding of new trainers, while collaborating with sales and marketing to promote safety programs. The role requires heavy equipment certification, a strong background in adult learning, and willingness

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in a related field with heavy equipment experience.
• Experience using LMS and adult learning methods.
• Willingness to travel (10-15%).
• Bilingual in French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct equipment operator and safety training for customers and staff using varied modalities.
• Publish public training schedules on a 3‑month rolling calendar.
• Provide private classes at branches or customer sites.
• Maintain training records and issue wallet cards within 24 hours.

If you are interested in pursuing a rewarding career, we invite you to review our opportunities!Job Description SummaryPosition Responsibilities:Conduct equipment operator certification training and general safety training for customers and to a lesser extent, employees using various modalities; modalities will include Instructor Lead Training and Virtual TrainingPublish public training class schedules on SBRs training platform on a 3-month rolling calendar basis to provide customers multiple class options for purchase.Provide private classes to customers either at an SBR branch location or customer site.Complete training records on a timely basis in SBR’s system(s) of record for retention and retrieval according to company policy.Trigger the issuance of customer wallet cards within 24 hours of class completion.Learn new adult training methods and courses to teach customers across a variety of safety topics.Maintain current training and equipment operator certifications.Provide Train the Trainer courses for customers.Optimize productivity using various efficiency measures such as maximizing class attendance and scheduling.Sell and support the sales teams to close safety training opportunities and grow the Safety Training business.Work with the Marketing Support team to create flyers and other sales materials to promote the safety training offering to local customers.Coach and mentor Certified Evaluators in their district(s) with a hands-on opportunity to practice or to see how the practical evaluation is to be completed.Support the Certified Evaluator team by providing equipment practical evaluations to customers who have completed the online equipment certification coursework and written exam.Assist District and Regional Managers with the onboarding and training of new District Safety Trainers, Employee Trainers and Certified Evaluators.Act as an advisor regarding safety issues and standards to SBR employees and customers.Requirements:Education & Experience:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 5 years of work experience in a related fieldHeavy equipment experience and certification (MEWP, Forklift, Earth Moving)Broad knowledge of industry safety standards, practices, and regulationsExperience and knowledge of adult learning methodsDependable, organized, motivated, and self-starterCustomer-service and ‘solutions’ orientedAbility and willingness to travel; overnight travel may be required (10%-15%)Proficiency in MS Office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookBilingual in French is considered a valuable asset for this rolePreferred experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS)Bachelor’s degree preferredPhysical Demands:Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job.
