A large technical engineering company is seeking to hire a Safety Specialist to join their growing team in Brantford, Ontario. The specialist will have an important role promoting and enforcing safety culture across multiple construction sites.

The position will be monitoring and ensure the companies safety programs and regulatory requirements are following all applicable guidelines. The specialist will work alongside site leadership to do so, while conducting site inspections, identifying risks, deliver employee trainings and support the prevention of incidents and injuries on the job site.

The Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily site safety and ensure company compliance while adhering to local, provincial and federal guidelines.
  • Deliver Safety training for new-hires, sub-contractors while conducting daily/weekly safety talks to drive safety culture.
  • Collaborate with project Managers, Superintendents and other trade partners to drive a proactive safety culture across the company.
  • Maintaining all required site safety documentations, including permits, logs and inspection records and ensuring subcontractors comply with requirements and proper documentation
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of Health and Safety experience in a Construction or heavy industrial environment.
  • Post-Secondary Education in a Health and Safety related field.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to multiple sites.
  • Strong communication skills with prior experience conducting trainings across multiple teams.
