  • Maintain awareness of amendments to the Manitoba Health & Safety Act.
  • Ensure timely completion of accident/injury reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate training for various safety certifications and recertifications.
  • Attend monthly Crew Safety Meetings and report progress.
  • Participate on Joint H&S Committee and manage progress on Abatement.
Job description
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for safety orientation for employees and contractors.
  • Maintain awareness of amendments to the Manitoba Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and make recommendations for their implementation.
  • Ensures timely completion of accident / injury reporting.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Workers Compensation claims including related administrative forms etc coordinating all return to work modified duties.
Champion Disability Management (WCB, STD / LTD, RTW)
  • Coordinate training for :
  • Forklift, Genie and Scissor certification and recertification
  • Emergency Response Team (ERT) certification and recertification
  • Fall Protection certification and recertification
  • Propane tank filling certification and recertification
  • Transportation Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification and recertification
  • Arc Flash Training
  • Lock out, Tag out, Try out Training
  • Confined Space Training
  • Annual - coordinating with service provider, scheduling employees, follow up with supervisors, receiving & reviewing documentation for :
  • Audiometric testing
  • Asbestos inspection
  • Crane Operator Medical and Visual
  • Inspector Visual
  • Air Quality
  • Coordinate and attend Monthly Crew Safety Meetings
  • Reporting
Daily Attendance report
  • Weekly Attendance report
  • Weekly & Monthly report to HR Manager
  • Monthly report to Corporate Office
  • Participate on Joint H&S Committee as co-chair. Set agenda, chair, take minutes, submit minutes, monthly inspection, and maintain inspection list.
  • Manage progress on Abatement
  • Meet weekly with Production and Processing Superintendents
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
